Our services
Prenatal Visits
You will be seen every 4 weeks from 0-28 weeks of pregnancy, every 2 weeks from 28-36 weeks of pregnancy and every 1 week from 36-41 weeks of pregnancy.
Labour Management
All our deliveries are performed at Victoria Hospital. Your labour will either be managed by Dr.’s Holland or McLaughlin personally, or a covering low risk family medicine obstetrician in their call group. If at any time during your labour or delivery you require high risk care, an obstetrician is always on call to be able to be able to provide surgical or forceps/vacuum management.
Triage Assessments
After 20 weeks of pregnancy, if you have any emergency relating to your pregnancy, we ask that you go to Victoria Hospital Obstetrical Triage, 4th Floor, B Tower. There you can be seen by ourselves or a covering call physician 24/7 for any emergency pregnancy needs.
Postpartum and Newborn Care
We recommend all patients be seen with their newborn within 72 hours of discharge from the hospital. If you do not have a regular family physician, we will provide this care to you and your newborn, as well as visits needed until they are 6 weeks old. At 6 weeks postpartum, we also offer a comprehensive postnatal appointment for you, involving assessment of mood, contraception options, and pap smear if needed.
Contraceptive Medicine
You will be seen for an initial consult visit, where the risks, benefits and procedure will be explained to you. A second visit for the actual insertion will then be booked, and a third visit 4 weeks post insertion for follow up is also recommended. All IUD/implants will be placed in our office.
